At 937 am cst, a severe thunderstorm was located near elkville, or near murphysboro, moving northeast at 85 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts. Expect damage to roofs. Siding and trees.

At 459 pm cdt, a severe thunderstorm was located over christopher, moving southeast at 20 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.

At 558 pm cdt, a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near sesser, or 8 miles west of rend lake area, moving west at 20 mph (weather spotters reported a funnel cloud near sesser). Hazards include tornado. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

At 535 pm cdt, a few circulations along a tropical rain band were capable of producing tornadoes. the rain band extended from macedonia in hamilton county, west across benton, to near the perry county border. the band was moving north at 15 mph (radar indicated rotation. emergency management officials have reported structural damage to a home just west of benton in the past hour). Hazards include tornado. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
